Our network comprises a wide range of churches and faith-based organisations. Capacity development, cooperation and mutual learning are important parts of our work.
On this page you can read about our thematic areas and joint work within the SMC network. The SMC member organisations cooperate through working groups, communities of practice, learning events and annual meeting places.
On behalf of the network, the SMC Secretariat has developed expertise in relevant areas such as freedom of religion or belief and mission theology and produced a large number of courses and training materials. Many are available in several languages, making learning accessible and inclusive also for organisations working in the Global South.
SMC is also the lead organisation in a consortium with several members, working to strengthen civil society organisations in developing countries, including smaller and informal partners, promoting human rights, sustainable livelihoods, and resilience. The SMC Consortium emphasises a grassroots approach, organising and mobilising partners and rights holders to unite for change.
